Hey there -

I have 2003 Expedition XLT. Factory single disc stereo with four doorspeakers, rear seat controls with headphone jack.

My first stereo upgrade was to an Alpine single-din, able to read MP3 discs(remember when that was something to brag about?) and with an aux input so I couldplug in ipod thru phones jack. Upgradedto Polk door speakers at that time.

Version 2.0 of stereo is currently in process. Pioneer double-din AVH-X4500BT,10in sub powered by a little mono amp, and amp’d the Polk door speakers. I am putting the amps under the centerconsole. So I completely tore apart theconsole and good thing – plenty of spilled pop, etc from previous owners. Once I had everything hooked up and my wiringwas spot-on…..at first. Amp really broughtthe door speakers to life - except it was only the front two.

So I researched here and elsewhere online and learned that the rear-seat entertainmentcontrol was likely culprit. I didn’t want/need/carefor rear controls of the audio. So I snippedthe wires for rear speakers from the rear seat controller and tied themtogether – in-to-out. Now I get soundfrom the door speakers for a few seconds, then nothing. Not even the fronts work beyond that fewsecond bit.

Anybody else experience this before? Something else I need to bypass in the rear seat controls?

Curious what others may know.

Thanks for the help –

C.J.
