The rubber boot on my PCV valve is vibrating loudly when the engine idles. The vacuum is pulling so hard that it's pinching the boot. This is a 5.4l engine. I replaced the valve and nothing changed. I must be honest that I'm not even sure what the PCV valve actually does, but it is clearly closing off. My mileage hasn't changed but the noise is disconcerting. Any thoughts?
