My 2010 has 68000 miles on it and has begun to hesitate and then surge when slowly accelerating from a stop. I can also feel a slight hesitate/surge when running at high speeds with or without the cruise control. No check engine light and no codes. The interesting thing is that I can disconnect the battery for a while, which I understand resets the computer, and the problem goes away. It will run great for several days and then problem comes back. Any help is appreciated.

The engine management and tranny controllers are "learning" systems and tune themselves to your driving style. Shift points and fuel mixture are the big two that get tailored as you drive. Resetting the controllers loads default settings.

Reset it, and then drive it like its a rental for a few days then see if the surging behavior is any different.

Thanks, but I've tried that several times already. The symptoms always return. You mentioned a "learning system". Is there a way to force the system to keep its initial tune with no learning?
