Hey all, ive had my expedition a few months now its a 97 stock with 150k on it. Im thinking about dumping a new engine and tranny it they are starting to skip on me. Lol does anyone have any ideas on what kind of engine i should get its got the 5.4 in it

well i wouldnt get a new engine if you dont have to. but if you do, just swap it for another 5.4. then you dont have to worry about fitting. as for the tranny, if it is starting to skip, just try changing the fluid and filter. if that doesnt work, just get it rebuilt. thats what i would do.
That depends on what you want to do with the truck.
Do you just want to use it for what it was intended? Utility?
Or do you want to customize it for show?
Or take it off-road a whole lot?
Utility: I'd look into rebuilding the current drivetrain first. That would be the most cost effective way of extending it's life.
Custom: The sky's the ceiling there.
Off Roading: For that, I'd use a crate engine/tranny combo.
