I was thinking about getting hid for headlights. What's the difference between 4300k and 6000k?

4300k is more of the OEM HID color, while 6000k is whitish with a tint of blue to it. 4300k will have the most lumen output...

usually 6000K is the closest to OEM output and the higher you go more blue... I have 10,000K which are really blue and higher than that start to go purple... and under 6000K starts to turn yellow...

Heh, they're not that bad. Actually, even though there is less usable lumens, the higher up the Kelvin scale you go, the more it "glares" and annoys people. Something about the bluer light scattering more. Also, blue puts more strain on the eye, which is also why it's not good to be getting 8K, 10K, etc.

Granted, people have their own preference as to what they want.

Yours were taken with a cell phone, it seems, which might exagerate the "stray beams" as well as the color. Mine have it as well since the headlights were not designed for HID, but out of the two, your lights seem "harsher" because of the bluer color. Even in the picture with the 100W bluer bulb, the bluer looked "harsher" than the OEM color.

If you pull up to a wall, you can really see the stray beams. A lot of it, though, could be controlled by having black housing headlights, since some of these stray beams are just the light reflecting off of the chrome housing.

I have both the headlights and the fogs at 6000k and I think they look the best on our expy. The 4300k are yellow like the original, the 6000k lights up more than enough and the view from inside is amazing. It's something to enjoy.

Ask the seller before buying. Pretty much the only way to know before buying, short of having the housing in hand, and test fitting. Also, some sellers will tell you that HIDs will melt the projectors (since a lot of the ebay projectors are plastic). Just ask around. Also, ask what type of bulb is required since they will most likely not be the stock 9006 bulb type.

I brought projector light for my vette, install them and couldn't see more 30 feet in front of the car at night on low beam, thank goodness I had foglights to help get me home and I change them out, no more aftermarket projector for me. Went ahead and install Hella with 6000k HID in them.
