The plot thickens. After investigating this morning, I was actually never sent the letter. I went to the dealer to talk to the service manager and he essentially said that nothing shows up when he enters my vin but he gave me instructions to talk to corporate. I called corporate and argued with the rep for 30 mins before getting it escalated. Here is what she told me.Surprised the post office didn't forward your mail if you submitted a change of address which forwards mail for a year (12 months).

Good lord, you had to argue that Jan 2019 fell within that date range? what a joke. Ford is just getting crushed right now with warranty outlays and recalls, it may be tough. I do hope they help you, it took me 9 months of arguing with Ford about other issues before they would agree to warranty repair them, and that was long before this recall, and now the half-a-million F150's they recalling. tough times ahead. The plot thickens. She argued the whole time that my Expedition, with a build date in Jan 2019, was not covered. Here is the relevant section from the letter that I found online:

She read this off to me verbatim and told me that my build date, verified by the VIN on her end, did not fall in this range. I finally convinced her that January 2019 was in fact before November 2019 so she escalated it, and I am awaiting a call from her supervisor. Went back into the dealer and again talked to the supervisor who agreed that something odd is going on and is looking into it on his end as well.
I have a 2016. Had the same cam phaser issue at startup. I had approximately 189k to 190k miles before I took my truck to FordTechMakuloco. He did much more for $4500 than just the dam phasers. They did call me. Just told me there was no recall but it should be fixed. They quoted me 16 hours of labor but the CSB said it should only be 9.7 hours. I have two kids and this is our family vehicle. Wanted it fixed before traveling for the holidays so we are not left on the side of the road.
