The 2 holes in the grab handle do not line up with any of the threaded holes in the A-Pillar sheet metal, so I’m thinking there must have been some intermediary bracket of some sort that I don’t remember removing. Can anyone confirm how these grab handles attach and/or share a picture?
How are A-Pillar grab handles attached in 2007 Gen 3?

The handle sits on top of the interior trim,
that is probably what helps line it up correctly.
