I have a 2007 Expo EB with the factory overhead DVD RSE. I replaced the in-dash CD Player with a Pioneer AVIC-Z110BT (great head nav unit). Got the Axxess module to retain steering wheel functions and the PAC module (C2R-FRD1) for the RSE functions. Everything works the way it's suppose to.

Now, what I wanna be able to do is see what I play in the front also in the overhead screen at the same time. I could use the Pioneer AV out connections and tap into the RSE DVD Player using AV cables. I could just stick 'em on the side AV connector that are already there but I wanna keep it clean. How hard is it to tap into RCA connection inside the overhead dvd player? Has anyone done it before ?

Does your Rear unit have RCA Accessory plugs on the front? You could just run RCA cables to that from the RCA out on the headunit. I opened up my overhead DVD and disconnected the input plugs from the faceplate so they were connected inside the overhead pod where you could not see the wires. Take a look at my post of the Kenwood DNX5140 install and you'll see what I did.

if you want to see the movie being played on your overhead you have to run RCA's. they problem you'll face is safety feature on ALL DVD head units...it will not allow you to view the movie/video unless the parking break is applied...you can bypass this but will require someone with advance knowledge of car audio to do it...i put my head unit in but got my 15 inch dvd/monitor installed and they offered to do the bypass for free...should've done it...now when i need my navigation i have to stop and apply the parking brake for the functions i need

@ Stoned06 - Thanks Bud, ... I really didn't think about taking 'em off the faceplate altogether. Well that's one painless way of doing it. Now what if I was to splice into the RCA wires with the A/V extension cables. Have you ever tried that yourself. That way I could keep my RCA connectors on the faceplate. Just an idea. any thoughts ... ?

@ BHSOULJA - Thanks but I'm already past that little problem. Usually if you wanna keep your nav or dvd playing while driving, (Eventhough it's against the law) All you gotta, for most Head Units, just ground your parking brake wire, in other words just splice your ground wire (black) and your parking brake wire (usually green) together. And you should be good.

Now I see you got the Pioneer AVIC-D3, .. for that one, on one of your harnesses you should have a mute wire (yellow/black) that needs to be moved from its original slot to the slot directly below it in the harness. Then splice the parking brake (green) and mute wire (yellow/blk) together and ground them. Checkout youtube, they got several videos.
