I just got some new speakers and THOUGHT I could put them in...well, just remove the triangled plastic piece, unscrew the single screw, then pull up on the whole door panel. nothing... I did remove the ring around the door latch, but it does not seem to budge. Can anybody offer advice on this?

All there is is 2 screws. One under the piece on the door and one under the door handle. Then push up on it. It may take a little bit to get it lose but it will. I have taken mine out repeatedly. The hardest part is putting them back on.

Thanks! I'm really looking forward to trying to put it back together....I've got a 1997 4x4 and had it since 1996.
Never a problem; great truck. I pull heavy loads with out effort and have the 4.6L V8. Double baffle FlowMasters sound good too. Thanks again, I'll try tomorrow to put the speakers in.

I have one of those service manual CD's (got it from Ebay). It shows that there is also a screw under the door panel light at the bottom. Pull the light cover and you will see it. Of course, this is for my '98, but they should be the same......
