My wife dropped a ring that we think went into the shifting column on her 2017 Expedition. Does anyone know how to properly remove the components to gain access to the internals?

There's a couple of screws on the underside of the column that when removed will allow the lower (underside of the column) cover to be removed. The top cover can either be snapped into place or it may have screws holding it down. You'll have to look once you get the lower cover off. If the ring went in there, it's probably going to be laying in the lower cover, so you shouldn't have to take the upper off. Actually, use the upper cover while it's in place to follow the possible path of where the ring might have slipped into. It couldn't have passed through the upper cover, only gone around it.

How could it have fallen into the column in the first place? (someone had to ask)

Also, did you get it back?

Please tell us that she didn't make up a story to cover for her pawning the ring for meth......LOL....

I'm just teasing but that's the picture everyone is now going to be left with unless you update us.

LMAO
