How is this amp?

I just got two 12' subs. Would this amp BOSS be good? Not crazy bass, just nice bass.

their subs are okay. amps and what not. not too good. im just wondering what his subs are so i can look up how to wire his subs and get a mono amp for them.

Boss is flea market junk...I'm not saying it wouldn't work for you, but your money would be better spent elsewhere (especially if you end up wanting to upgrade down the road; which is almost always the case).

Also, that amp is only 125 watts rms per channel at 4 ohm...I'd get something bigger...that may be enough power, but it never hurts to have some headroom...especially when upgrading is inevitable.

if your looking for good and cheap... my neon's entire stereo came from walmart... all sony xpolde stuff... has been working for me not gonna impress an entire block but sounds good enough for me

My last three cars have had all sony xplod stuff, it's worked great. I've always been a fan of sony stereo equipment.

I found this amp on Amazon, it's a Power Acoustic and I've owned a couple of them years ago, they were good stuff just not known.

It has more power than you need but that isn't a bad thing. But for 30 bucks more than the boss and a hell of a lot more power I'd go with this. Wire your subs in parallel and call it a day.

a guy at car toys told me that it is better to over power a sub rather then under power it due to the heat that underpowering it will build and cause it to fail

Yeah, okay thanks. Im eventually gunna get a nice touchscreen HU. And new amp/speakers for the rest of my sound system. But just bass for now. So i wana get one good one.

Any reccomendations on amps? Or at least wattage? Thanks

kenwood 600watt is one of my fav amps

and sony has an xplod 700 watt for a decent price

the kenwood is a 4 channel bridgeable

and i think the xplod is a 2 channel

i recommend the 1 ohm. and get an amp thats about 1000 watts. my old crunch was 4 ohm at 1000 watts. and it was good. this new amp is 2100 watts at 1 ohm. it would be good for you too. just turn down the gains.

i dont have the bass knob it came with since i already have one. but this is a great amp.

boss is just to have something in the trunk...i recommend upgrading when you can...but its good to hear the depth of music until you can invest more
