How Do I Remove The Metal Piece We're The Radio is so that I can put a Aftermarket Radio?

I'm not sure you should remove it. That is an important part of the stereo mounting hardware. Many single Din mounting kits I have found use that. Plus, if removed, you probably won't be able to re-install the factory radio if you decide to sell.

I have found Crutchfield to have vehicle specific mounting kits, wire harnesses and stereo/CD players.

Just cut it out, did it to mine. Yours is a little tricky as the 97-98 have a slightly smaller opening that 99+ but its definitely do-able. As for putting the stereo back, that'll never happen. After markets ones are so cheap these days if you ever sell it work the deck into the price or swap it out to a different one.

Cut mine out too. No way my single din was fitting with that in the way.

That explains why the filler plate I have seems just a bit too big for the opening.

I just unscrewed it from the back and cut it out.....I also ended up putting the factory one back in, it hasn't budged and seems just as sturdy as before.

Just my 2 cents.....
