Just bought my new 2006 Eddie Bauer with heavy towing package and I love the truck. It's my second gen 2 (had a 2003) but it's driving me crazy. I know I was able to shut it off on my old Mountaineers and the 2003 Expo but can't remember how to do it. Anybody know the recipe? Thanks in advance. Bob

Yes, I have the manual but didn't find it there, I'll look again, I could have just missed it.

Read it again but I don't see anything about stopping the chirp from the remote.

my 05 only chirps if I hit the lock button 2x on the remote.
Nor does it chirp when I unlock, no matter how many times i press it.

That's what I'm trying to get mine to do. I have the factory remote and no aftermarket alarms. My other Fords and Mercury Mountaineers have all been like that but it was a programmable function and I know I read how to select and de select the function. I just can't find out how I did it.

According to the 03 and 06 Service Manuals there is no procedure to disable the chirp function.

Agree with AcesOverEights about pressing the lock button twice will cause the horn to chirp one time but if you hear two chirps that means a door is ajar at least that is how it is on the 01 model
