I have a 99 Expy 5.4. I have no coolant leaks taht are visable, no coolant mixing with the oil or anything like that.
Everytime I drive then park and get out I smell a odor of coolant.
I thought I remember reading somewhere that it is common that a tube that runs from the front of the intake to the back starts to deteriorate and leak a bit.
I just looked through all my past posts and threads and cant find it (I thought I commented in the thread so I thought I could find it)

Does anyone have any similar sitaution, or have a blow up pic of the upper intake and and said coolant tube or a thread on how to repair?
Thanks

I just got done replacing an engine that seized due to coolant in the oil. Oddly, it didn't show any "milkshake" on the dipstick, only clean oil. When I drained the oil, what I got was about a pint of antifreeze, followed by a black tar, then the clean oil. The goo sat just below the dipstick level and ultimately starved the engine of oil.

Are you getting any steam out the tailpipe?

none at all- I already found the culprit- the tube that runs under the intake
