Ideas for better gas milage?

so far, I've:

- cleaned air filter
- tune-up (all fluids)
- no junk in the trunk
- new factory stock size tires
- drive like a gramma

what are some of your thoughts?

Lots of guys say a programmer/tuner makes a big difference. If I had the money I would probably pick up an Edge tuner myself. Changing the spark plugs (not sure if you had this covered by the "tune-up"), O2 sensors, and doing a custom exhaust with chambered muffler can also add mpg's. But at the end of the day it is still a 3 ton tank that is going to be quite thirsty...

Keep tire pressure up to spec. Maybe even add a few pounds.

Synthetic fluids.

Drive gently. Anticipate what the traffic is doing so you don't accelerate or brake unnecessarily.
But please stay out of my way!!:Big Laugh:

I've said this on other posts but one of my biggest gas milage gains were underdrive pulleys. And they aren't that expensive if you install them. $150 gained over 1mpg

In all seriousness, They go to some extremes, but you can probably learn a lot about how to drive on one of the "hyper miler" forums or websites. Some of these guys get 100mpg from a Toyota Corolla or Ford Escort.

Oh hell no... I'm a rebel down to the bone... I'm actually kinda proud that I average 8 mpg :) Oh!!! I think I better Sea Foam just to make alot of smoke also :)

I was gonna also say, remove your spare tire, and strip the Expy down to the bone to cut weight if you wanna gain mpg..

One can buy my Fusion Hybrid which is for sale. :)

Also - driving a hybrid has forced me to change how I drive... that will definitely help. I get 2 - 3 more MPG in my wife's Suburban than she does...

As for my MPG in my Expy (12 / 18), I just got lucky. :)
