My 2000 Expedition starts, but doesn't hold the idle and quickly dies when I take my foot off of the gas peddle. Anybody had this happen? I can't drive it, but I am hoping that the fix is easy enough for me to do it myself... Help please!

Have you done any work under the hood lately?
What codes are coming up?

Off the top of my head, it could be any one of several sensors (IAC, MAF, TPS) or you could have a clogged air filter or a giant vacuum leak, or ...

Give us some more info and someone here will be able to help narrow it down.

I was going through the same thing. I found it to be a ripped vacuume hose. It was right by the pcv valve on the passanger side valve cover. Open your hood and listen for a hissing sound. That will usually tell you that you have a vacuume leak! Another way to detect it is to spray brake cleaner in the area of the noise, and the idle will jump up if you have a leak!

Thanks for the responses. The 100,000 mile service was done recently and the car was recently serviced... I'll check for the vacuum leak...
