Absolutely pleased with ours. It has been almost trouble free, outstanding fit and finish, no fluid leaks, only one major reprogramming issue--mirror fluttering, hands-free lift gate is sort of sketchy, and best thing is that our equipment package included bells and whistles no longer available even on the newest Platinums. Maybe the only other vehicle that could have made for a hard pick would have been if the new Bronco was around. Granted not even similar to the Expedition, and would have been a classic tossup between it's practical and I just want one. In other terms, a want verses a need and the want would probably have won out.
There is no way. 22+ Expedition you are saying has excellent fit and finish? Even Ford themselves have said it’s terrible.

just cast my vote for a buy again. 8 months, 16xxxmiles including a recent trip to New Orleans from IL - about 800 miles each way and 5adults/near adults. Comfortable, no complaints from any riders, smooth drive. Yes, the Limited's interior accoutrements are not the best, but they are quite good. The platinum has supple leather and other goodies but with massage delete amongst others at the time of my purchase, was not worth the extra bucks. For the people mover it is currently, in good comfort, I still will get the limited over other large sized trucks available. Only issues have been with the rear seat entertainment which I may leave out as the old kids all runs with their own I pads.

You misunderstood my reply. I was answering a general question, posed to owners of any 4th Gen. Expedition...Read my post again and at the bottom I show the different Ford trucks we have owned including our 2019 Expedition which was built way before Covid disrupted everything, and Ford started deleting or charging extra for features included in the Special Edition package on ours: CCD, Advanced Park Assist, HD Towing, 22" wheels, 360° cameras, Bright Roof Rack, LED Headlights, 3.73 ELSD, Second Row Heated Seats, One-Touch Rear Windows, Advanced Security System, etc.

My '18 has had its issues. I wouldn't buy again - not for the vehicle, - but the service at dealerships. The Ford service experience is crap. My expy has been to 4 different dealerships, they've all lacked in some form.

I have a 2019 limited with the heavy duty towing and other options, I love it! I also have the same drive train for a 2017 F150 XL which is rougher on the road but weighs less than the Expedition, and gearing is better for gas mileage. It is much faster but that isn't needed. No issues so far.

In XLT the carpet is horrible and does not hold-up. Hard to vacuum (pils up) and after a year wear marks in some sections. Worse than my 2003 Sequoia at 12 years after only a year or two. Plastic is easily scuffed and is cheap. I actually could live with all that because I liked the way it drove until at almost the three year mark the transmission is now "haunted." Drop in RPMS, stall, and slam down shifts. Had the dealer reset the learning transmission for the stupid idea 10 speed and only got worse. Also, musty smell in A/C system.

it's hard to say. I bought it because there really weren't many choices for something its size, capabilities, and cost. As others have said, I'm very annoyed with the quality of the vehicle and even more so the dealers and Ford itself. Due to that, I probably won't buy another Ford.

Absolutely, I would buy it again. Just a few days shy of 1 year ownership. It is the stuff of my automotive dreams. I adore it! I think our family will age out of needing a vehicle this size by the time we would replace it, but I would get another one in a minute. We have a 2019 Max platinum, with HD tow and all the things. Except DVD player. That was intentional. We make our kids look out the window.

I have a 2020 XLT with 43k and it has been absolutely flawless! It is my 3rd one. My 2006 is still chugging along with over 400k on the clock. I will be getting a 2024 King Ranch when they come out.

I am now onto my 2nd expedition so I was given the choice and I chose to go at it again. Sure, it is NOT perfect. I had pretty good success with mine and hope to have pretty good success with the second. I do wish I could have my 2019 back though...

I will say that if there were better options out there I would have considered them. I looked at the suburban and the jeep. The bigger wagoneer is not attenable right now so that wasn't an option. Neither the Chevy or Jeep can do much better than the Ford in any real category as far as I can see, they can't really tow more or carry more. The wagonner seems to have slightly more cargo room but it also is hindered by a low payload capacity just like the ford and chev. None can really tow as much as they let on due to payload capacity issues.

If ford, or someone else, would make a HD version that had a higher payload capacity I would buy it right now. I would be fine with a stiffer ride to get it. I am thinking like that weird ford F250 that looked the same as the F150, it was just a slightly HD version of the F150. If they could just add 500-600lbs to the payload the expedition would be perfect for me.

Ford definitely needs to up the game in the manufacturing issues as well as do something to deal with their dealers and the subpar service.

I know back when I had a new jeep and was going to the dealer with some issues there was a big effort from corporate to refine the service experience. At that time, I felt like the dealer was trying very hard to resolve issues and chrysler was letting them resolve issues. No idea if that is still how it is, I suspect all dealers are fairly crappy in providing service.
