What "infotainment" system are you running in your 1st gen? Looks like I only have about 4" for an indash unit. I have a Pioneer indash that I installed in 2002 but looking to upgrade to one with built in XM.

yup. Any Double DIN works.

There is so much out there. In dash 'DVD' is pretty dead, check out Android head units. Mine in my Kia attaches to a bluetooth dongle, so I can get live engine output in my dash, which is cool. You can do just about anything with an android deck. Most have backup cam capabilities too, which is a useful feature on the beast.

Its dead. All digital.

We will be streaming to our decks via services (ie netflix) in no time (some android heads can do this already). Hard media is done. Plus I can carry way more content for very little space.

[Says a guy with an 8 track, phono, cassette, CD, and DVD players all still funtional around the house.]

I agree that hard media is all but dead. I'm a techno geek anyway so I will look at an android head.

QUESTION; is 2 DIN the same as double din? Some items advertise 2 din, some say double din???
