inner tierod tool?

I have a 2nd gen expedition 2006 eddie bauer 4wd 5.4 and the driver side inner tierod just recently went bad on me. Ive heard that there was a special tool needed in order to replace it? Is this true and can i buy it anywherr or is it better to just replace the rack?

harbor freight has them. AutoZone should be able to loan you one. I have one if you were closer.

Thanks for the tip! I was able to get it without the tool. Just usef a big crescent wrench and it came right off!.
