So I took my car to the dealer and asked him if this can be changed in my 22 timberline.
Unfortunately they say the vacuum is controlled through the TCM and no such valve exists in this model.
Wonder if that is any true.
If so how can the problem be fixed because I still get the noise occasionally.
In mid 21 they did change to an electrically operated IWE and no more vacuum. Bet you just had a bad IWE.

I believe so.
the sound still coming out occasionally and now in 4A or 4H the is a hauling sound which wasn’t there. I winder if it is connected to IWE.

Thanks for the post. I don’t see this type of hose setup in my 2023 XLT. I hope the new design is as good as the one with the blue vacuum hose

I have a 2020 and it's been making this noise intermittently but I couldn't describe it. Supposedly they checked my IWE last time my car was in for service but I'm calling BS. I found this video today, and it's EXACTLY what I'm hearing, so I know I've got a problem. The question is, what kind of damage is this doing? Is my hub junk?

My 2022 Timberline also has a very intermittent "clank" noise when starting or stopping in a slight turn. I've only noticed it about 4-5 times over the last two years, but I'm going to keep an eye on it. Not really grinding sound, but more of a single transient "clunk". I don't know if others have experienced this ever.

From my experience it is the IWE used to engage the AWD. It happened to my 2019 Expedition several years ago. I thought I had a rock lodged in the brake. I shifted in and out of AWD and that seemed to solve it. Hasn't happened again even years later. If that doesn't work then replacing the vacuum actuator would be the next step.

I know this is an old thread...I also have a '22 Timberline with the occasional engagement clunk. Also I'm getting a little tire scrub/grab in 2H while on low speed turning. Do you have this, too?
