Intercooler Install Time

This has been in my garage for months and finally getting around to the install.

First fitment issue vs f150... We have motorized louvers and the install directions on f150 do not. Was instructed to remove a small shroud but our are 1 piece.

Problem solved with razor blade. Super easy to cut and it runs up against harder plastic so you can make easy straight line while under vehicle still.

Took for quick drive. No leaks. About a 100 degrees today. Not saying this gives me anything extra in the hp department but it will make more consistent power now.

The new intercooler is at least an inch thicker and weighs quite a bit more than the stocker. I was amazed how light and cheap the stock one felt.

I just did the 180 thermostat and 5 star said the intercooler should be next. Then turbo adapters and downpipes. But it's so much fun to drive already.

I agree I love this vehicle. What are the benefits of the 180 thermostat? Runs cooler? Stock is?

This was a pretty old post of mine. I never took any readings of Temps before and after install, but I can say looking at the 2 units side by side there is a clear performance winner. There are some other posts around here that members have posted before and after temps.
