Hi, I recently purchased a 98 expedition for a smokin' deal and had a few questions about the interior.

The last bench. It seats five at the moment but I would like to add a third row. I was wondering what's involved in adding one in. I looked for bolt holes under the liner in the back and there doesn't appear to be any anchor points back there for the additional seating. The floor seems to be much higher in the back too.

If I have to modify my expedition to add a third row by drilling holes in her than I may as well just shoot myself in the balls because I bought this truck under the belief that it could be dropped in. I understand there's a bit of wrenching but if some one tells me to drill my floor pan I'm going to be choked.

Lastly, where can I pick up all this stuff? A interior costs about $2000 here wich I personaly feel is a tad rediculous. I need all the seats and the rug. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks guys

Oh one last thing! is it normal for the steering to be really really responsive? I swear the power steering is so sensitive that any light input into the wheel goes a long way. I always thought that rack and pinion got stiff as it aged.

well you see your truck might not had the optional 3rd row seat and if you want one you will have to drill and put the brackets and everything in the truck . i got a 2000 with the 3rd row seat and there are like 4 box looking things that the seat mounts in to so if you aint got them your truck didnt have the third row. the only way i see you getting a third row it to go aftermarket

Thanks for all your help guys. Yeah the places that quoted me the 2g's for a interior were Cee Gee's and Wasneys ford wrecking yards up here in Vancouver BC. I wish I could get my hands on a write off or a parts truck and just go at it for the parts.

I realize there are no anchors in the back and I think I could mount them in worse case scenerio. Here's what I need to know.

Do the expeditions that came with the 3rd row have the floor pan raised up a bit in the back? If they didn't and the floor pan sat low like front and mid seats then show's over. No point having a third row if the guys in the back are going to have there legs at the same level as there bum.

Thanks again guys!

The shape of the back floor itself is not much different with the 3rd row seat option. You do sit like a big kid on a little stool in that generation Expedition. You'll have to upgrade to an '03, or higher to get the mac-daddy 3rd row seat. :D
