Hey guys. I hope you can help me. I have been searching for an answer all over but I can't find anything pertaining to the 2nd gens. I have a 2005 Expedition and my ABS light will come on every so often. I was thinking that it may be an ABS sensor. But every time I get ready to take it to a place to have the light read, it's gone. My question is will a bad ABS sensor cause the truck to sense a wheel slip and cause the 4HI light to flash in AWD mode? Sorry if this has been answered. I searched and couldn't find anything. Maybe I haven't been using the right search words but any information would be greatly appreciated.

Mine acted like that with bad wheel bearings; the wobble through off the sensors
Thanks for the reply! I have checked the bearing and they are still ok. I was thinking it might be a bad ABS sensor throwing the intermittent light but my question is would that sensor affect the 4WD when in AWD.

Absolutely that would cause it - if the sensors are dirty or what-not, maybe that too.

advanced auto sells a actron model CP9580A which will read ABS codes A few of their stores in my area also use these when reading codes for customers.
I believe they sell for approx. $200.00 I was lucky and got a brand new one from e-bay for $124.00 Has more than paid for itself a few times over.
Update just checked on e-bay and there are many new for under $130.00

dude - somebody will read those codes. Call around - maybe a local ford dealer? Don't spent more bucks than you have to.
