good evening all,
I have an 05 Expedition XLT w/ 180,000 miles and i keep getting an intermittent P0302 code for a misfire in the cylinder. All the plugs were changed about 20,000 miles ago and i just changed the coil on it with a motorcraft coil.
When i start it, the exhaust smells like the engine is running lean and there is a rough idle. While driving i will lose power, but then i can tell when the cylinder starts firing again.
Could this be a fuel injector issue?
Also based on another post, i was going to replace the crankcase hose connector part # "F75Z-6C324-JA Connector", but i can't find where it at on the engine block. it is suppose to connect to the back of the intake manifold and then to the valve cover, but that was on a 99 5.4 liter.

Is the hose you're referring to the one that runs from the upper intake/throttle body to the valve cover? If so it's connected to the back of the throttle body and runs to the passenger side valve cover where it plugs in between cylinder 2 & 3 are.

I never replaced those hoses but I did take all of them off and sprayed a large amount of carb cleaner in them and let them sit with the carb cleaner soaked inside for a few minutes to clean up most of the built up deposits. It did help the engine breath a little better that I noticed.

Ps. This is based off of my 05 XLT

Doc,
Do you know where the fuel filter is at? it has been a few years at least since it was last changed, but when i went looking for it, i couldn't find it.

No not the same but I know where that one is also at. Look at your brake booster on drivers side, on top of the brake booster there is a cone shaped device it's black with a couple houses running out of it. The hose that is connected via a quick disconnect plug toward the back has a 90 degree angle on it and runs behind the intake manifold, that is the hose you're looking for. It runs behind the throttle body and connects to the intake plenum on the passenger side just above cylinder two about 5 inches up 2 inches back from the coil on cylinder two. Hope this helps if it doesn't PM your email I can shot you a few pics or a video and send it to you.
