Intermittent spudder (2001 4x2)

Not sure if this is in the right area, I'm new to posting.

About a month ago my expedition started spuddering, like it was out of gas (that's the best way to describe it). It was DEFINITELY not out of gas. It went a few more miles then died. Let it sit for about 15 minutes, cranked right back up. Didn't give me ANY problems until EXACTLY 2 weeks later. This time I was pulling onto the main road, hit the gas and nothing, left my foot on the gas and it went. Then it died about a half mile later. Same thing, let it sit, cranked up and drove it home. You could tell she wasn't happy about it
Fast forward to today, (2-3 weeks since the last time. Same thing, stranded.

I hope I was descriptive enough - anyone have ANY idea??

The OD is broken (bought it this way) so no idea how many miles on it.

Have you changed the fuel filter recently? sounds like a clogged filter.

That is also a sign of a failing fuel pump. Use a fuel pressure gauge to verify.

what is the problem with the OD is it completely broken or is it that it doesn't light up

you should be able to use a flashlight to see if you are getting any reading on the OD if you see the mileage drive it a few miles check again and see if it has changed if its just a problem with the light that is an easy fix
