Is that a fan or the turbo?

Sometimes when I come to a stop after a steady speed, I hear a loud fan noise coming from the front end. It lasts for about 5 seconds after the stop and then goes away. Is this a normal sound? I have never owned a turbo before, so an not sure if this is a turbo unwinding or something different. Thanks! 2019 Expy , Limited Max.

I have the same thing happen every time I come to a stop from HWY speeds. It’s the electric fans. Note how your turbo gauge is at 0 during this.

Yes it is at zero... should the fans be loud like that? Loud enough that you say, hmm, is that normal? But not crazy loud...

mine gets loud as well, I'm writing it off as normal. Anyone else have thoughts or facts on this?

I know the Navigator has flaps for the intercooler in the grill that open and close, you can hear the motors controlling the fins to allow more or less air passing thru the intercooler.

I've seen those flaps/air-dampers on startup go through a system test & open/close a few times. Forget their proper name. Thought they were controlling the engine temps but it also makes sense for the intercoolers as well. Maybe at high speeds they close some if the engine is cool enough than when you stop real quick its loud due to the air hitting a blocked area until the flaps open silencing the loud fan/air sound. all I got

Yeah, this is just simply at stops I hear it last for that 5-10 seconds.... I am certain it is probably humming along at highway speeds too.... just didn't know if it was a proper sound... it is certainly loud (not a bearing sound though, definitely a fan of some sort.

It is the AGS(Active Grill Shutter) system. The sound you are hearing is the Electric Cooling fans. They are on, but the AGS is closed, so you hear them. AGS Opens and the sound gets less, but most likely the fans are still running(depends on temp/load).
