the engine went UP and into the cabin of the van then OUT the side doors?
wow, didn't know that was possible

I changed an engine in a VW bug once
dropped engine down and left it there on ground, picked up the entire car body and moved that leaving the engine sitting there
Yeah he got really good at it because like I said he went through some junkyard small blocks. The one time I was riding shotgun with him, he had just grabbed 2nd gear when the throttle stuck WOT. We hurriedly unsnapped the doghouse latches, flipped the lid open, and he yanked the linkage to unstick it. I don’t know why he didn’t just turn the key off, but it was some kind of screaming by the time we got it unstuck. It’s a wonder why she didn’t scatter then. I remember he had a chrome footprint gas peddle and the linkage to the engine was complicated because the pedal was out in front of the engine. We were lucky to not take shrapnel in that deal. Trying to speed shift 3 on the tree into high gear to buy more time before it topped out wasn’t an option.

Anyone use car ramps?
I use ramps to change oil. I finally drilled a hole in the ramps and in my garage floor and use concrete screws to keep them from sliding. When I’m not using them I just screw the screws down flush in the floor too keep dirt from filling the holes. They never slide on the blacktop driveway, but always on the slick concrete garage floor. Problem solved.

I have an epoxy coated floor in my garage and had the sliding ramp issue as well. Now, I just drive up the ramps in 4-low and it seems to work fine.

Yeah I tried 4-low without success, only one ramp would slide then putting the SUV on a serious twist. Be careful because these front axles aren’t locked.... only one wheel gets power at time.

I bought a trolley jack (4 wheel) and have some wood blocks to give it an extra lift. I also keep jack stands in my truck.
