Anyone interested in doing this easy and affordable mod...
I originally bought the Apolloo CIS for my wifes car. I purchased the system and a 80mm adapter form Advance Auto for under $150 bux! It is easily affordable so... We decided to park her car and buy a new one. I took apart the original air intake system on my 5.4 Triton to see if I could incorporate this CIS into my Expy. Take the origial filter out of the case and simply enough put in the Apollo with the rubber adapter (80mm) towards the throttle body. The adapter fits snugly into the stock piece. Cut a section of the included tubing about 7 inches long and attach it to the open end of you Apollo. Put the cover, for the original air filter, back over the Apollo and you should have about three inches of tubing sticking out to go inside the cold air intake in the fender. Put it all back together. Most CIS systems are very expensive and have no brackets so your CIS system is just laying in your engine bay. This mod retained the factory look, but works wonderfully. You can hear and feel a major difference and my fuel mileage has increased by five tenths of mpg! Have fun and enjoy!
