Think of trading in my 2011 Exp with 70k on it.
I got it 2 years ago after having a 2001 and a 2002 Screw 5.4 4WD.
I traded in the 2002 with only 90k because the one I had before I had got with 56k and traded it in with 240k. More or less the same truck from 2005 to 2013.
When I needed to do too much work on the 2001 to make it worth keeping (state safety inspection), I got the 2002 because my Edge Programmer, After Market stereo system and Box all fit with no issues, and the bed SOFT cover all fit. However, it came with a bed cover that was HARD and I thought it would be nicer but I could not stand it because I could not take easy to haul big stuff. Also, it did not have a front bench so a few times we needed the 5th seat with 3 kids.
So, i traded in my truck that I had got 18 months before for only 2K less the I got it for.
When I got my 2011 Exp, it was used, but the dealership had replaced the Tires, Brakes, Rotors, and looked good as new.
BUT IT IS AN XLT. They had it listed at $32K and the dealer ship with 34K on it, and since it was an XLT they could not find anyone to buy it. I got it for 26K plus 3 Free Oil Changes.
What I want to trade for is 2014 5.0 XLT or STX F150 due to the rebates because of the new 2015.
SO, I am torn on keeping the Exp and here Pros and Cons.
PROs
The Truck has 70K on it.
I do not want to have a car payment for a new one for 4 more years.
I only have 9 payments left on this.
It fits my needs for 85 % of the time.
Fits in my 3rd bay of my garage with my work bench and table saw behind it (3 foot work bench and 2 foot table saw) The 2001/2 both fit in there as well, but I think I only had a few inch left to spare.
CONs
MISS having a truck bed.
The 5.4 motor has the Valve Train Sound when Starting COLD, and AC on here and there but not all the time. I might have pushed the Oil changes too long so I am afraid that I will end up with “Major” issue at 100K
Needs new Tires.
Would miss the 3rd row but we do have 7 pass XC90 that my wife LOVES with 135K.
New Loan for about 17K-19K if I trade it in.
No Place to HAUL BIG STUFF and TREES (still have my Christmas tree outside on the side of the house).
Wife Hates to drive this anyway, and but did not mind my truck.
Thanks for any feedback!
