So, The Explorer I had was white, and I traded for my black Expedition. I know that keeping a black vehicle clean is next to impossible, but what can you do to keep it looking its best as long as you can? Thoughs or suggestions?

Wash, rinse, Wax & Repeat...

I have a Black Expy, and have owned many black vehicles... big thing is just to keep it clean, and keep a good wax on it. Stay away from car washes, and do it by hand with VERY soft cloths. Black will show everything, even the most minor scratch. I have 3 kids, and when the truck is a little dirty, the hands rub against the truck if you don't have a good wax coating on, those little fingers just scratched the paint. I also have my black vehicles buffed & detailed every 2 years.

I'm no pro... but that's my 2 cents.

+1. To fix the dust problem, hermedicaly seal the garage and put in multiple HEPA filters. Other than that, your screwed. Sorry. I had a black pick up, I feel your pain.

just wash it when i gets dirty and stay on top of it...unless youre wanting it to look brand new then take those other precautions they mentioned...i wash weekly unless it gets extremely dirty...clay bar it every month or so and should be good to go...get a decent wax and shine it up...
