Key Fob Programming

I got a keyfob off of amazon and my truck wont enter programming mode

anyone know why it would not?

I did the turn the key 8 times yadayada and lo dice...

you have to do it a few times, it took me at least 10 seperate attempts before it did the lock pop entering program mode thing

Yeah like Who said keep trying it. When you do it dont do it so fast that you cant count. It also helps to get a nice rhythm down!

I think my truck may not be equipped with remote keyless entry thats probably the reason, darn $10 wasted!

I Just read your first post and you only turn the key 5 times.

I couldn't imagine that an Expy EB didn't have the keyless entry.

All the vids I have seen said 8 times but I saw somthing else that said it changed for 98 so 97 might be 5 times, IDK Ill go do it 5 times and see what happens

I tried it 5 times over and over and nothing! Any tips or tricks? I make sure all of the doors are unlocked, get in, put the key in and go 1-2-3-4-5 leave it on and NOTHING!

Give me some time, Im contacting the company i bought my key fob from for new programming instructions since i have misplaced mine!

yes I believe that it is 8 turns for 1998 and on, but they 97 is different I suppose haha I just think that I do not have RKE

You and Who are correct, its 8 cycles. Another idea would be to disconnect the battery for a few min and try again. I have heard of this working!

It is 8. It is in my owners manual but mine is an 05. It took me a few times to get it to work. I found it worked when I cycled it pretty quick. I bought an all in one switchblade style key off ebay and it works well.
