I ordered a new keyless entry remote for my 97 expedition E.B. I looked up on the forum how it says to program the remote and it will not work. Inmstructions say to turn the ignition switch on to off 8 times leaving it on after the 8. Doors should lock then unlock except mine does this at five. It then says push a button on the remote and the locks will lock then unlock. MIne will not do this. I checked the fuses and everyhting is great. What am I doing wrong? My old remote worked fine until it went swimming in the washing machine. If you have to PM me the info.

It seems like the number of key on - key off cycles can vary depending on the year or model. Make sure that you only program 1 remote at a time. (have the other one away from the truck)

Also, there is a chance that the remotes are wrong. Not all of them are interchangable.

All remotes programmed need to be there at initial programming mode.Close the door, lock it, turn key on and off 8 times and on the eighth, leave it on the locks will jump up and down , when that is finished press one of the keys on the pad, the locks wil jump up and down again, repeat process with each keypad extra you have for the truck. When finished, simply turn the key off. their programmed, enjoy!

Ahh this may help me too!!
I bought a remote and tried to program it but had no luck.
I did the on off thing 8 times and the truck did nothing but I was doing it with the door open! I shall try again. Thanks!!
