My keyless entry stopped working, key won’t open driver door or tailgate and fob isn’t working. Husband locked his fob in the truck. How do we get into 2000 Expedition?

Did your key FOB ever work ? Is it just a dead FOB battery ? Otherwise sounds like you need a locksmith.

Do you have the original door code that is under the driver's side dash on the square tan plastic box (computer / brain / module)
I have always kept a spare door only key in a magnet key box on the back hitch !

If push comes to shove... Meaning that 1. you've already put in a new 2032 coin battery into your remote and visually verified that the fob is sending a signal by seeing the LED light on the key fob up when you try to operate (assuming you have this style), and 2. You've not ever written down the 4-digit code (followed by another 3 to open all the doors) as bestbob mentioned above.

Your final option then is to gently move the top part of the door ever so slightly ajar by using a plastic wedge that will hold the top of the door just far enough away so that you can slide a thick wire between the inner and outer door rubber insulator and on towards the unlock button located on the door handle.

The first time that this happened back in 2004 I decided that an small (8x10) white plastic cutting board that we had in the RV would work perfectly for this. And it did.

A wire coat hanger won't be thick enough to work for this. You'll need something a bit thicker.

If you manage to damage the door insulators because you left a sharp edge on your wire then you will hear the wind wooshing until you fix it.

Don't be tempted to pull the door out further than this necessary. You can bend the door and it won't close properly anymore. Then you'll be on your way to the boneyard to find a replacement door. First generation expys are becoming a rarity in salvage yards these days.

Good luck.

This is why I had a valet key made at hardware store years back. I keep it in my cloth grocery bag, along with my wallet. As one of the others stated, use your door passcode on drivers door. It's saved me a time or 2. This might sound a little nuts, but local police usually keep a lockout kit in their cruisers, and love to show off their skills. Had that happen to me years back. They were literally fighting over themselves to see who could get my Datsun 280 door open. Just saying, they might do it for you, especially if you personally know an officer/Sergeant.
