Hi all, just curious, how urgent of a fix is a slightly leaky oil pan gasket? I drive an 06 expy AWD with 125k and have just begun noticing a small bead of oil that collects near the oil drain plug on occasion. I wanted to see where the oil was coming from so i've been cleaning the oil pan and checking it every few days. It appears to be leaking slightly from a few places and dripping down to the lowest point on the oil pan, which is the oil drain plug where i see the bead of oil build up. So i'm not losing much oil at all. My question is, should i get this fixed asap or can it wait? If I could get away with cleaning the oil pan every couple days so oil doesn't leak on my driveway, and keep an eye out on my oil level, i'd rather do that, but i'm no expert. How serious of an issue is this? And is it a difficult (expensive) fix?

Also, i will be moving in 3 weeks (hence my reasoning for wanting to delay this fix, as funds will be tighter than usual). Will this cause any issues on the road? We will be travelling around 900 miles.

Thanks,
Greg

I would't be concerned about that small leak. It definitely can wait to be fixed. Keep an eye on your oil level as you stated and you should be fine. If some gets on the driveway try putting kitty litter on it to soak up the stain.
