Hi guys, so I’m in need of a new headlight for my 2020 platinum max. So my part number is jl1z13008m for the headlight. I’m finding tons of headlights for sale that literally look identical to mine but have different part numbers. I spoke to a couple of dealers and best I could come up with is it’s an updated headlight and is unknown if it will work and no one knows what’s been updated. Does anyone know what the difference is between this headlight and ones from the older models with a different part number as jl1b-13035-bf for example. Thank you!!

Searching on parts.ford.com takes me to the same 13008m part for both of the part numbers you provided. Since 2018-2020 are the same generation, I would expect it to be the same basic fit. If you're looking at those ebay offerings (totally understandable considering the $1400-1900 cost new...woof!) I'd be more concerned with the indicated damage and what return policy you have on those if it doesn't fit or work.

Yeah I thought the same but even on other websites the updated part number is $200-$300 more expensive brand new so I’m wondering if maybe they tweaked the internals or brain of the headlight in someway. I think at this point I’m just going to buy the correct one and know it will work for sure. Thank you for your help and input.

You will probably have to go into bcm settings or other settings to change your headlight setup.
Yeah that’s kind of what I was thinking but wasn’t sure, I’ll just have to buy the correct headlight for $1300. Thank you for the input.

My post was if you were coming from halogen to LED. Since you have a Platinum, if the LED headlight replacement has the same connections and configuration, it should be plug and play.
