Hi,
I'm hoping one you guys can maybe give some advice on this timing chain replacement I'm doing for my fathers Expedition.
It had no error codes popping up on the scan tool prior to me starting this job, but it did make a clacking noise coming from the timing chain area. I let ford diagnose it, and they told me it was faulty chain guides.
I did the work myself, but the left hand cam has slack on one side of its chain. The right cams chain has no slack after I pulled the pin off the tensioner. Am I supposed to leave it like this? I followed the official service manual for this vehicle. Only thing that's really raising a red flag with me is that at TDC, my right cam isn't at 12 o clock, it's more at 1 o'clock, but again I had no error codes stating I had a timing problem.
I recorded a small video of the problem I'm talking about. I would greatly appreciate any advice here, thank you.
