I have a low beam light and a fog light out. It's a 2020 limited . Does anyone have a light guide I find conflicting answers.
Thanks in advance.

For the low beam, whatever is written on the housing at that bulb is correct. I’m assuming that you don’t have the factory LED headlights.

See I was seeing h11 and 9005 on what I'd look at. Never saw hb3. I guess I'll just have to wait till I'm at it to check for certain. I was wanting to have it in when I get home tho. Thanks for the info

This is going to be confusing, so read carefully:

This applies to 2020 NON LED headlamps only.

The Owner's Manual is WRONG!

* My owners manual states that the "Halogen headlamp low beam" (top location, parabolic reflector) is a "H11" bulb. However, a "9005" Halogen was actually installed at the factory and fits/works.

* My owners manual states that the "Halogen headlamp high beam" (bottom location reflector optics) is a "HB3" bulb. However, a "H9" was installed at the factory and fits/works.

You can't make this stuff up....

I have no explanation for this confusion.

I discovered this while replacing my Halogens with an HID system. Imagine my dismay when I ordered a new system based on the Owners Manual misinformation....

BTW, you will need a 5.5mm socket to unscrew numerous screws attaching the front (and bottom) of the fender liner from the fender and other components along with popping a few Christmas tree connectors to allow you to pull back the fender inner to access the headlamp housing/bulbs. Pop off the appropriate round rubber dust cover, rotate the bulb ~30 degrees CCW and pull the bulb out of the housing with the wire connector attached, then remove the connector from the bulb assembly while a few inches outside of the housing, then reverse the process for installing the new bulb. Once the bulb is connected and installed you'll need to carefully align the dust boot and carefully "iron it out with you fingers, starting at one point and pressing it into place a few degrees at a time until it is completely installed. If you have ever driven in dirt road conditions....you will get dirty with this job and a dust mask might be advisable....Just saying.

This gets comes up a lot of times on various Expedition boards. OM is proven to be wrong.

So I finally got to check it out. Lol
Low beams 9005
High beams h9
Fogs h8
Now only problem is I have to figure out the h9 and h8 compatible bulbs since I can't find them in the sylavania silverstar ultra bulbs

Has anyone successfully interchanged the h9 and h8 with another bulb no issues.

I used H11's in place of the H9 High Beams

I had an old h11 in my shed I got it to go into socket but the plug wouldn't plug in. I did read they have a universal led that'll plug in but my regular bulb wouldn't

Sorry about that. Full disclosure: the rest of the story is that the H11 I'm using is an HID bulb that uses a pass through connection that plugs the Ford pig tail into a harness that loops through an igniter, Transformer and Capacitor before returning to the bulb.

I have the Alla Lighting kit for high and low beams. Like others have said my high and low beam bulbs are backwards from what their website says. Had to purchase a second set of lows and to get the right bulb, I have to order what they advertised as the high beam bulbs.
