Hey! Is there any way to lock the second row media controls? I am a little worried for when my kids figure out they can torture me by turning of my music. Thanks! I did try to read the manual first.

First time kick butt. Second time duct tape. ;)

From 08 Manual, page 41:
"Parental control
Press the memory preset controls 3
and 5 simultaneously on the front
audio controls to disable the rear
seat controls. They will remain disabled until the front seat passengers
"enable" them again by simultaneously pressing the 3 and 5 preset
controls. The settings of the front seat controls will always override
those of the rear seat. controls."

Wow! Thanks! You have wicked manual skills! Going to try this when I get home.

Not opposed to duct tape...but my son knocked the volume yesterday on the 20 hour old expedition...and it was turning itself up rapidly...and he didn’t know he was doing it. This will be helpful!

I did look at some sync3 pages and it looks like Settings is the place to start. I did see some pages for control of features. So maybe the rear radio controls are there. DamifIknow. My search for "Parental Controls" did find the radio sync3 section. So a drill down for radio control might lead somewhere.
Damn computers, LOL!

Has anyone ever added a power switch to the line feeding the rear controls? I'm curious if doing that would interfere with other radio functions.

Just disabled rear radio controls. Not a lock per se, but it works. My kids are not as well controlled. Also found outlast night, adults may hit the buttons with their feet as they cross their legs. So here you go. Not ideal, but super quick and super easy.

Once the cupholder is off, look down into the space behind the panel and you will see the following connectors.

The audio controls engineer should be forced to chauffeur my grandson around for say a week. This should be a menu option to disarm those rear controls.

Who would have ever thought folks would carry kids in the second row??? Stupid design decision. Can they fix with a firmware update?
