Ok so I was sitting around and wanted to see what you guys think before I pull the trigger. I want to install a locking 8.8 front carrier. I see where Randys has these Ford MotorSport locking carriers at a good price. So have any of ya'll installed a locking front carrier? I am thinking that since the Transfer Case can be set to 2wd or 4wd or AWD My thinking is that should not interfere with the front axle locking unless I get into a bind. I think I am correct on this but please chime in and let me know what you think

As long as you don't have power going there then it shouldn't be a problem,
althought you don't have the abilty to unlock or lock your front wheels so technically you still have the front shafts moving.

I think a couple people on here have front lockers ...

That is what my hold up is. I hate to install the locker and then have problems when turning with binding. I would really love to have a real 4x4 like the Land Crusier,Land Rover. I think that a 4x4 like the Expedition should have a option for either locking transfer case and also the option to lock both front and rear axles.
I was really disappointed when I went to pull a F-350 out of a rut in my back yard. when I hooked the chains up and started to pull the right front tire and the left rear tire were the only two wheels that would do anything. So it cost me $100 to get a wrecker to pull him out. I know that the weight of a Expedition is heavy and it should be able to pull a house off its foundation, but mine will not pull a greasy string out of a cats a**.

The safest way to do it would be to use a selectable locker like an arb or e-locker. That way you will be assured that you won't have any problems during daily driving.

Some of that has to do with tires as well. I noticed a huge improvement in pulling power when I went to the aggressive tread 33's.
