Looking for the largest tire for stock wheels

Just as I thought. No rubbing on the frame of the truck, just rubbing on the mud flap and it's minor. Here is a pic if anyone is interested.

A 285/75/17 will mount on the stock wheels.

However, the problem will be clearance now. Running a higher aspect ratio (75) on stock wheels, you will definitely rub on something.

Check the picture in my previous post. With mudflaps, I'm already slightly rubbing with 285/70/17 tires. With 285/75/17 tires, I'll definitely be tearing into those mud flaps.

Maybe the 285/75/17 tires would clear without mud flaps, but I'm happy with the 285/70/17 tires.

20" inch tires!!!

What size tire would be best with 20"s on a 03 EXPEDITION XLT.
285/50/20-305/50/20 or 275/55/20.

I have 305's on mine and it's alot of tire

they have some nice 2 inch lifts available for the 03 and newer that would give a big boost in clearance and the kit is only like 200 dollars or so.

Just an update on the 285/70/17 tires that I have.

Still have them on and still no problems. I'll be coming up on 2 years on these set of tires in August.

Just thought you all might want to know in case any of you had concerns about the "bead" issue with wider tires on stock size wheels.
