Real nice truck with 125XXX, the only issue I can find is when you switch into 4X4 or AWD the light doesn't come on in the dash & it doesn't engage the transfer case. I'm assuming it's just a relay or T case motor or shifter, possibly all of the above. Any ideas or experiences with this, any chance it's a bad t-case??

If you are looking for a deal, I am selling mine. Has a 4" lift, 37" mud tires, some engine work, and other goodies. the guys here know the truck. The biggest "problem" I have with the truck is when you get in bad conditions, you don't need the 4x4. The truck does great in 2wd. When I play in the mud, I leave the truck in 2wd most of the time just to have some fun.

I am asking $5000 for the truck. I have $10K just in suspension/tires/rims/gears. It is a hell of a steal. I have 130K on the truck right now. Let me know if you are interested.

gharris, I am looking at 4 vehicles right now.

1) Lotus Elise
2) Jaguar XFR
3) Jaguar XK (or XKR)
4) F-150 to be bagged, dropped, and had the Thermo treatment done to it.

This is what I am envisioning at the moment for the truck to look like but with about 3-4" more drop to it. Yes, the lines are a bit different than anything you will see.

Call it a mid-life crisis, but the main reason for having the Expy (kids and dogs) have both gone away. So, with only me and the wife, the need for the Expy is kinda gone. Not to mention where I am living now, there are no real 4x4 places anywhere close. So, the need for 4x4 is gone too.

If I go after a toy car, then I am either looking at a Beck-Lister or I am going to build up a 1970 Dodge Charger with a blown V10 under the hood. You know, something to get me to the grocery store and back. LMAO.

gharris, right now I am not driving the truck a lot and it is really costing me to just let it set. I am driving a Jaguar X-TYpe as my daily driver. So, I am better off letting someone that can use the truck take it. I have gotten my money out of the truck for what I have put into it. It has treated me well and hopefully it will treat someone else just as nice.

How are the Jags treating you? I am looking at an 89 XJS Saturday for my new fun car.... 62,000 miles and supposed to be in pristine condition. Many mechanical issues with them?

jrjr, we are talking about 2 different eras of jags between what I have and what you are looking at. The big problem you are going to have with the 89 is the electrical system. It uses a different thought process than what you will be used to. They use a positive ground system (ie, the body has the battery positive tied to it and then all the ground wires are what feed through the vehicle). As for the drivetrain, it is pretty solid. The intake may take a little bit of work to keep in tune, but that isn't anything to be overly worried about. take a look at http://www.jaguarforums.com. Then go down to their XJ6 section. Those guys will be able to tell you more about your car than you ever wanted to know. Tell them Thermo sent you and they will know who I am.

Ok thanks. Actually most motorcycles I have worked on are kinda similar, at least they switch grounds rather than positive sides. Seem the old VW I had back int ehe 70's (60's bug) was positive ground and I have ran across a few others too.

Ive been in the jag forums already and have done a bunch of research on there but hadn't ran across the posi ground before so thanks for that. In 89 they switched from the old Lucas ignition to the morelli (sp) system and did away with the centrifugal advance in favor of crank sensors and such. Ford also bought them in 89 so this may be the last of the old ones that didn't have the Ford influence. Not that that is a bad thing necessarily.

Anyway, it will be an adventure if it works out. Always wanted a Vette. Did that. Always wanted a Jag - specifically an XKE, but they are way out of reach for me. The XJS will suffice though..... just call me Bond, James Bond. Gotta get these things done before my number is up! :Big Laugh:
