I've got a 2004 Expedition XLT with factory 6 Disc in dash player that was getting tired so I went to Wallyworld and picked up a wiring kit and in dash DVD stereo. When I unplugged the factory plugs there was and extra one that I assumed was the input for the stereo controls on the back of the center console for the middle passengers. So I hooked the stereo up and it works great and really woke up the speakers up but of course now the controls on the back of the center console don't work. However, the mute feature doesn't work when I'm backing up but also the climate controls on the back of the center console don't work now either. And also the third passenger climate doesn't work from the roof controls in front of the sunroof.
So bottom line it looks like somehow the backup and climate controls are tied into the factory stereo and I'm going to have to re-install that piece of junk just to get back those features?
