been driving it this way for a couple weeks since the gauge quit working.....has power as the low fuel light is on......i just fill up every 100 miles or so.....runs like normal but the gauge quit....has this happened to yours???????

Have had this happen a couple times on my 2003XLT. Mechanic said could be Sulphur buildup on level sensor, but that was years ago. Dont think there is as much Sulpher in gasoline nowadays.

What I did was just wait it out and it went away. Been good for years. YMMV.

I had to have the pump and sender replaced on my 01 at 91K miles. Actually twice because the first sender was way off and I had virtually no fuel when the Low Fuel light came on. A hard left turn and the engine would die. With the new one, I figure I have 4 gallons remaining to empty.
