I usually get my parts from Rock Auto or advanced Auto and there are many unknown brands out there. I usually use Moog or motorcraft for ball joints. Any one which is better and easier to install? Plus will the harbor freight ball joint c frame press work on gen 2? The bus is broken. Thanks.

I've done 3 lowers (2 different expys) with the rented set from advance auto if you'd rather rent instead of purchase. I used Moog's so I can't comment on other brands. Anecdotally, I haven't had trouble with the Moogs, but have less than 2,000 miles combined on them so far.

I too like Moog. Factory Fords don't have a grease fitting, that's why they fail premature. Greasing the joints can double the life of them. Back in the day all joints, and tie rods came with zerk fittings to grease. In those days we used to call an oil change LOF, lube, oil, filter.

Thanks for the reply. I like that they have grease fittings and do not mind hitting them with a little grease to keep them happy.
