if you can't afford 24 oem lug nuts, you certainly can't afford an Expedition. Installing a different size is
sure stupidity. The stupid pandering chatter goes on and on...

Can we just have a civilized and helpful discussion please? Most of this discussion has not been helpful to say the least. Either help or just don't.
Actually it is helpful. Most people only remove the lugnuts every 3+- years and all I am saying is that if you use a slightly larger 6 point socket for the swollen lugnuts it will work just fine and won't round any un-swollen ones so you don't have to buy all new nuts. It's really a no brainer. After you go broke a couple times you don't just go buy everything on a whim.

Actually wasn't directed at you. I agree in this case. Using the next size up in metric/SAE is so minor you'd have to try to tear it up. But if you do want to replace them I posted a link for some Gorilla Nuts at half price. I'll probably replace mine when I do the brakes next time just because:)

Thanks, buying new ones isn't a bad idea but the slightly larger 6 point works also if you want to go that route. I think this thread has run it's course...…...lol

OK. I'll bite since I have Ques?ions. Is that $5.82 for one? That seems grossly overpriced. Are they zinc plated? That wouldnt last too long up here in Salt City. Guarrrawnteeed. Those are open end-ed? ... so they fit every size stud? Interesting, but the stud threads will stick through / are exposed to all the corrosive atoms and molecules? Baaaa - bad idea! That would rust up as solid as a weld an NEVER come off! I'd have to pack that hole with bee's wax or something. Just the thread length thats available, is too short. The Gorilla nuts have threads allll the way up the barrel. More purchasing power. And appearance? Who wants a nut with a hole in the middle and stud sticking out. Even Mad Max would scoff at that. Last but not least ... the length of the socket mating area is short. I'll take full size macho grande Kong nuts all day long. There are other good suppliers like McGard too. There, I got that off my chest.

Septic - can you post a pic of yours installed? Would like to see.

no prob, just buy a year's supply at a discount, and the Jiffy Lube will change them for you during an oil change.

The Chinese Gorilla lugs rust badly in three months here by the beach.
So ... Septic Professor doesn't answer questions either. Thanks for nothing. Probably busy at Club Mary's.

I put GORILLA on my 2014EL about 2 years ago. Slight surface rust which doesnt surprise me. Gorilla said the keep them clean and add a coating of wax or they will rust. Doesnt hurt anything. Its chrome on hardened steel and wrenched, rough life for such a thin coating. The wheel looks a lot worse. So they match somewhat. Happy with them.

what did you torque them to ?
If you claim they are “so pathetically simple to deal with” shouldn't you know the torque specs? And for someone who is constantly bashing this thread about its “stupid pandering chatter” you do an awful lot of that yourself. Maybe you should just move along so we can have a civilized discussion here without name calling and insults from you
