Thanks! Will do. I plan on printing the images you posted earlier and bringing them up to my buddies when we set up a date. Front end work tomorrow and we have a cold snap (-20 F) hitting the area so it might be a few days.

The air pump that was just installed runs approx. %40-%45 of the time while driving. My research tells me that the leveling sensors are on the upper control arm. I am hoping that once the front end is rebuilt and the sensors can work as designed, maybe this will decrease the pump run time. The front suspension is pretty bad with the telltale wheels leaning in at the top plus the toe in is way off. Like both tires are toed out.

I wanted to get this taken care of because I had a 1976 Ford LTD that had a tie rod actually fall apart and almost cause an accident. Just concerned about safety.

These concerns were validated. My mechanic started to replace the upper control arm on the passenger side and it fell apart before he could take it apart. The flexible brake line on that side also failed and needed to be replaced.

I posted a nasty review on the Facebook page of the dealer who sold me the Exp. I am keeping all receipts of the repairs just in case I decide to take further action.

Stereo is the next project!! Updates to follow.

if your doing upper control arm on one side you should consider doing both sides also consider replacing both front brake hoses

Here is what was replaced:

2 Sway Bar Link
2 Lower Ball Joints
1 Upper Left Control Arm
1 Upper Right Control Arm
1 Idler Arm
1 Inner Tie Rod Left
1 Inner Tie Rod Right
1 Outer Tie Rod Left
1 Outer Tie Rod Right

They also replaced as stated, the right brake line and then a steel brake line that goes from the master cylinder down to I believe the splitter.

Vehicle drives like new. I have to hold off on an alignment until next month, I'm running low on funds. I am getting close now!

I have an appointment with my hunting partner for Tuesday night to tackle the stereo issue. I converted the images @bedrck46 posted to .pdf using PrimoPDF and re-posting in case someone else needs them. I will update as soon as I find anything out.

Greetings,

Here's an update. Got home an hour ago, and ate supper. Blood sugars were getting low.

Fixed the stereo issue. Events are as follows:

I got only 1 key and one keyless remote. I ordered two replacement remotes on Ebay and they arrived today. Tried to program the remotes and I could not get into program mode.

Decided to bring them along in case I was doing something wrong. Jim started troubleshooting right away. He removed the cellphone crap that the previous owner installed as well as the broken Pioneer CD changer. We tested all the wiring that could be involved and all the fuses. We had power to all fuses and all fuses check out as good. Thing was we still weren't getting the main power to the radio. So, to make sure that was the issue, we cut the main power in and ran a jumper to the fuse for the radio. The radio worked, but Jim decided to unplug the jumper and re-try the factory power and that now worked.

What happened was the clips that holds the fuse in were opened too wide and when we put the wire in there with the fuse, that filled the gap and made a solid connection and delivered power to the radio. We believe that the reason the radio would work is because those clips are basically spring steel and when really cold, contracted enough to make a connection, but would spring open with the vehicle warming up and cause it to disconnect. That's our theory.

I mentioned the keyless entry issue because once that was fixed, it also fixed the issue of not being able to get into program mode to program the remotes. That's because that fuse, #8 in the fuse block inside the cab, powers these items-Radio, Main Light Switch, Remote Anti-Theft Personality (RAP) Module.

The anti-theft (RAP) must be the keyless entry and possibly the the key transponder. Guessing that I did not need a transponder key with that fuse acting up, just guessing mind you. We cannot understand what it was referring to in regards to the "Main Light Switch" because the headlights and fog lights worked fine.

Jim wanted me to thank @bedrck46 for the schematics. He said they were very useful and helped us figure out what was wrong.

But as stated before, the left front speaker still does not work, we are guessing that it's a bad wire. Something I plan on tackling when the weather warms up around here.

I am finally making some headway. Front end fixed and aligned, had to replace my third coil the other day. Next is tires and fix the exhaust leak. I also need to work on the 4 wheel drive. The transfer case shifts, but the front axle doesn't engage. I'm told it's probably the Actuator that needs replacing. I am planning on going after the seller if this is too costly. I discussed the situation with a lawyer and was told that's the only thing I could probably win. The ad for this Exp stated the 4 wheel drive worked great.
