Master cylinder to ABS hydraulic line 2004 Expedition

Maybe someone can help me with this; one or both of the lines from the master cylinder to ABS unit started leaking at the steel to braided transition.

One of the lines is no longer manufactured. These lines are measuring .24" or 6.1mm according to my harbor freight calipers. Definitely bigger than standard 3/16" line.

I was going to replace the lines with 3/16 copper nickel and reuse the nuts, but of course it is some odd ball size and I'm not sure what the fix is now. I have searched online and I haven't been able to find anything on how to handle this.

I think I'd try 1/4" tubing.

I have also bought a fair amount of NOS parts on eBay so that might be another option for you.

OK, I just did my 2003 Expedition, and the kit came with 2 extra lines to cover brake cylinder to abs for years 2005-2006. There is no flex portion, but if you think this will work, I can send them to you at no cost. I was going to throw them in my spare parts bin, but rather see them put to use.

Oh wow, that is really generous, at minimum I could cover shipping. My expedition is a 2004 though so I'm not sure it's the correct fitment?

F150 went to the Expedition platform in 2004, so you could also check the F150 parts. Might be similar enough to work. Try to get the braided line if you can. There's a lot of relative motion between body and frame. Maybe would fatigue the solid lines, depending on how long you want this thing to last.

The two lines BlackCoffee sent me arrived yesterday. I held them up against the corroded lines in the Expedition and it looks like a fit.

I will install them this weekend and post an update.

Finally got a chance to install. They fit well. For anyone reading this in the future, I would consider contacting the manufacturer of the above linked brake line kit to see if they will sell you just the master cylinder to abs lines.

Unfortunately I haven't bled the system yet because the front driver wheel is seized on the brake rotor. Always something with old vehicles.
