Melted oxygen sensor*

Hey guys, new member here on the Illinois/Wisconsin border. I recently inherited my girlfriend's expedition because she claimed my trailblazer. It's throwing a code for the bank 1 upstream sensor. I ordered the sensor and crawled under it only to find that the male and female plugs had melted together. There's not much room to work in there to begin with, let alone rewire it. Does anyone have any suggestions? I read somewhere that with the right tuner/programmer you can tell it to ignore a bad sensor. Is this true? If so, what tuner would I need? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance!
