Micro cooling fan above the start/stop button

I always wondered what it was until the sun was shining into it and I saw it spinning.

I assume it’s to cool the computer modules inside?

Eta: not sure why all my pics on my iPhone when attaching is sideways.

In order to pull air from the cabin across it.

The older ones did not have the fan, and the heat of the plastics would affect the HVAC.

Not an air quality sensor...just temp. Out of luck there. It will be your passengers reaching for the fan knob...
