MPG Advice

New 2019 Platinum 4x4 is only getting average 12.5 mpg. I do have after market mud tires. Anyone else getting around the same or better mpg

I usually get 14-15 city driving. But I turn off the Auto start and keep it in Eco mode.

Are you running premium fuel? It wouldn't knock your mileage down that much, but it would matter.

Are you usually running in Normal, Eco, or Sport? Because those will change your shift points and also affect your mileage.

I get about 15.5 avg on factory tires in my 2018 platinum max 4x4. Add in your mud tires and the 12.5 isn't terribly surprising. Especially if you occasionally enjoy using all 400 of your horses.

Yes, there are people on here that will swear they get 950mpg. But I think they are the exception, not the rule.

My 2007 Eddie Bauer 5.4L is averaging 14.9 MPG at the moment on stock rubber. 12 mpg doesn’t surprise me with big mud tires. You have to remember the truck is turning more weight and has more friction and therefore is in boost more often.

I have a 19’ Platinum with 35x12.5x20 all terrains on it and get 12-13 in town. I actually get a little better mileage in sport than in eco or normal in town. The bigger tire and 10 speed seem to not like city driving. My 16’ F-150 with 35’s and 6 speed would get 15-16 city pretty easy and wouldn’t be shifting all the time.

My 2019 gets 23.5 average on the highway, but in town gets driven with a heavy foot and usually gets 14-15. Overall average is usually 17-18 with a mix of driving, but its 2wd.

That sounds pretty low, I get better than that towing lol. Around town I average 16.5 and I use premium fuel.

On the highway I can squeak out between 9.9L / 100 kms and 10.9L / 100 kms (or 28.5 to 25.9 mpg) driving about 110-120 km/h. In town I lose bit and get about 20.9 mpg or about 13.5L / 100 kms.

I get around 14 to 15 in town and I drive normal mode. Stock tires and a fairly heavy foot.

Mud tires kill MPG in general. They are a waste in my opinion unless you live in the mud with it!
The lifetime MPG average on mine is 19+ MPG on 3.73 gears and stock tires.
